Hearing loss doesn't usually start with not hearing.It starts with not understanding when there's noise around you.That's what nearly all our patients notice first.
Hearing changes gradually, which is why it's hard to notice.More often than not, the family spots it before you do.
If you're the one who has noticed your partner or your father hearing less well: a check-up commits them to nothing. And the earlier it's picked up, the easier the adjustment later on.
The first thing we do is an otoscopy.If earwax is blocking the canal, the test wouldn't give a reliable result — so we'll tell you and refer you to a doctor to have it removed.
That way you don't come for nothing.
A hearing test takes an hour to an hour and a half, so it's better to book so we can give you that time.By phone, WhatsApp, email or the form.
If you drop in without an appointment and we have a slot, we'll see you anyway.
Do you need to bring anything? No. If you have previous audiograms you can bring them and we'll compare, but it isn't essential.
We give the first visit as long as it takes: an hour to an hour and a half.
