Reveal is Oticon's new range of hearing aids. Using the information Oticon provides, we explain what's new, how its four levels differ, how long the battery lasts and how it connects to your phone and TV. First, one important point: the right hearing aid depends on each person's hearing, and not every model suits everyone.

1. What Oticon Reveal is and which models it includes

Reveal is the new range of hearing aids from Oticon, a brand owned by the Danish group Demant. According to Demant, it was launched on 12 August 2026.

  • Oticon Reveal miniRITE R. This is the hearing aid. It is a rechargeable RIC: it sits behind the ear, and a thin wire carries the sound to a small speaker, called the receiver, which sits inside the ear. According to Oticon, it has a single button.
  • Oticon CROS RE. This is for people who hear with one ear only. We explain it in section 5.

What the levels mean. Oticon sells Reveal in four technology levels: Reveal 1, 2, 3 and 4. Level 1 is the most complete. According to the datasheet, the level changes some of the features. We summarise them in the next section.

Colours. According to Oticon's brochure, there are 9:

  • Oticon Reveal in SilverSilver
  • Oticon Reveal in Silver greySilver grey
  • Oticon Reveal in Steel greySteel grey
  • Oticon Reveal in Chroma beigeChroma beige
  • Oticon Reveal in Diamond blackDiamond black
  • Oticon Reveal in Intense plumIntense plum
  • Oticon Reveal in Honey beigeHoney beige

Water and dust. According to Oticon, it is IP68 certified, which indicates resistance to moisture and dust.

2. What's new: two artificial intelligence systems

Oticon presents Reveal as the first hearing aid with two artificial intelligence (AI) systems working at the same time. It calls this ‘Dual AI’:

  • Speech AI, which according to Oticon handles the voices of the people talking to you.
  • Context AI, which according to Oticon recognises the sounds around you: the street, a bar, a family gathering.

The idea. Oticon explains that for years hearing aids have focused mainly on speech. Its view is that the brain also needs the surrounding sounds to make sense of where it is, and that Reveal aims for a balance between speech and surroundings. Oticon publishes its own studies with figures on this. They are manufacturer data and we do not repeat them here.

How the levels differ. Here are some figures from Oticon's datasheet:

LevelAI noise reduction (difficult / easy situation)4D sensorsWind & Handling Stabilizer 2.0Channels
Reveal 112 dB / 6 dB✓✓64
Reveal 210 dB / 4 dB✓✓48
Reveal 38 dB / 2 dB——48
Reveal 46 dB / 0 dB——48
  • 4D sensors: according to Oticon, they adjust the hearing aid not only to where you are, but also to what you want to hear at that moment. Reveal 1 and 2 only.
  • Wind and handling: according to Oticon, the Wind & Handling Stabilizer 2.0 reduces noise from wind and from touching the hearing aid by up to 40 dB. Reveal 1 and 2 only. Levels 3 and 4 have the previous version.

3. Connectivity: phone and television

According to the datasheet, Reveal supports Bluetooth LE Audio, Bluetooth Low Energy and Auracast. All of this is available at all four levels.

  • Calls and phone audio. According to Oticon, it allows hands-free calls and streams sound straight to your hearing aids from iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac and some Android phones.
  • Pairing on Android. According to Oticon, Google Fast Pair pairs it instantly with compatible Android phones that support Bluetooth LE Audio. Android 15 or later only.
  • Background noise while streaming. According to Oticon, a feature it calls ‘streaming comfort’ automatically adjusts the level of background sounds while you listen to your phone.
  • Television and other accessories. According to the datasheet, it works with the TV Adapter 3.0, the ConnectClip microphone, EduMic and the Remote Control 3.0.
  • Telecoil. According to Oticon, it works with telecoil (hearing loop) systems, such as those at some counters and venues.
  • Oticon Companion app. According to Oticon, you can use it to turn the volume up or down, find your hearing aids if you lose them, contact your hearing care professional remotely and get reminders to change the wax filters.

What Auracast is. It is a Bluetooth system for broadcasting sound to many devices at once. According to Oticon, it lets you connect to sound systems in public places, such as cinemas or airports, and at home to some recent TVs. It only works where the sound is broadcast using Auracast.

If your phone or TV matters to you, let us know at your appointment and we will take it into account.

Free hearing test. We set aside between an hour and an hour and a half for the first appointment. It is painless, there is no obligation, and at the end we explain the results.

4. Battery and charger

Reveal is rechargeable, with a built-in lithium-ion battery.

  • Battery life. According to the datasheet, the expected operating time is 24 hours.
  • Fast charging. According to Oticon, one hour in the charger gives 16 hours of use, and 15 minutes gives up to 4 hours.

According to Oticon, actual battery life depends on how you use it, which features are on, the hearing loss, the surroundings, the age of the battery and the use of wireless accessories. If you spend many hours streaming from your phone or TV, it will last less.

Two chargers. According to Oticon:

  • Oticon Charger: a desktop charger. It fully charges the hearing aids in two hours.
  • Oticon SmartCharger X: a portable case with its own battery, for charging the hearing aids three times without a plug.

5. What type of hearing loss it is designed for

Reveal comes with four receivers, the part that sits inside the ear. Each covers a different range. The figures come from the charts in Oticon's datasheet. The decibels (dB HL) are the ones on your audiogram: the higher the number, the greater the hearing loss.

ReceiverUp to what hearing loss, according to Oticon's datasheet
60Up to about 60 dB HL
85Up to about 85 dB HL
100Up to about 100 dB HL
105Up to about 105 dB HL, with a custom earmould (MicroShell)

Which receiver and which ear piece each person needs is decided with the hearing test and by looking at the ear.

The Oticon CROS RE is something different. In general, a CROS system picks up sound on the side that cannot hear and passes it to the other ear. According to Oticon, the CROS RE is designed for deafness in one ear and works with Reveal.

6. Is it right for me? What it depends on

You cannot tell from reading a guide. The right hearing aid depends on each person's hearing, and not every model suits everyone. What matters most:

  • How you hear, in each ear. We check this with a full hearing test.
  • Your ear: its shape, earwax, and how comfortable you are with something inside it.
  • Your daily life: whether you spend a lot of time on the phone, watch TV, or go out to noisy places.
  • Your hands and eyesight, for putting the device in, taking it out and charging it.
  • The technology level: not every feature is available at every level.

A model being new does not mean it is the right one for you. Sometimes another model is a better fit, from Oticon or from another brand. If so, we will tell you.

7. How to try it with us

First, the hearing test. Choosing a hearing aid makes no sense without knowing how you hear. We set aside between an hour and an hour and a half for the first appointment. At the end, we explain the results. If you don't need a hearing aid, we will tell you.

Then, the trial. If the results point that way, we show you the options that suit you. We work with several brands, including Oticon. You try it before you decide.

Where. We have Oticon Reveal at all three of our centres: Moraira, Jávea and El Albir. We always fit it after the hearing test, and only if it is a good option for you.
